    Workstation 9.1 - getting the error message that the secure zone is full and a blub about using TI to increase the size. I have one full archive and about 12 incrementals. I thought it was suppose to delete the oldest incremental to keep the SZ from filling up. Am I wrong?

    A base image and subsequent incrementals is seen as one complete image. The way to get the FIFO management to kick in is to make a second base image after,say, six incrementals. When the zone then fills up later the first base image and its increments will then be deleted. To save myself the effort I simplify the process and just use complete images. The zone in my case is big enough for ten images which is more than enough for my needs.

    The way out of your current bind is to delete the secure zone using its wizard. Then recreate it and start afresh.

    Hello BCon,

    Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

    We are very sorry for the delay with the response.

    First of all, please be aware that, as it is pointed out in section 3.3 of Acronis True Image 9.1 Workstation User's Guide, the backups saved to Acronis Secure Zone are deleted automatically, if required. Acronis True Image uses the following scheme to clean up Acronis Secure Zone:

    - If there is not enough free space in the zone to create a backup, then Acronis True Image deletes the oldest full backup with all subsequent incremental/differential backups;

    - If there is only one full backup (with subsequent incremental/differential backups) left and a full backup is in progress, then the old full backup and incremental/differential backups are deleted;

    - Otherwise, (only one full backup left, and an incremental/differential backup is in progress) you will get a message about space error. In that case you will have to either re-create the full backup or increase the Acronis Secure Zone.

    You can always check how much free space is left in the zone on the second page of the Manage Acronis Secure Zone wizard.

    According to the above, you can simply create a new full backup in order to overcome the "problem" you encounter. There is no need to re-create Acronis Secure Zone in your case.

    As for deleting old incremental\differential backups, please take a look at my reply in this previous thread.

    If you have any further questions concerning Acronis software, please feel free to submit a request for technical support or post any of them on this forum. We will certainly try to help you in resolving any issues.

    Thank you.
