When booting true image 7 (build 627) I keep getting sector read errors from my external USB 2.0 disk.

I can simply select retry each time, and the retry succeeds, so I can restore the image. But having to sit next to the computer hitting alt-r every 1-2 minutes is quite cumbersome.

I have done a physical check on the disk, it contains no errors.

I haven tried the latest build (634) yet since according to the change log nothing significant has changed. I can't remember this behaviour earlier, but I think I was only using internal IDE disks at the time.

When the errors are encountered, is there any kind of repeated clicking sound made by the USB drive? If no, then perhaps you should try a different USB cable?

No strange sounds to be heard. When I use the disk + USB cable with other applications there a no problems at all (using it in windows, linux and freebsd). I'm pretty sure the problem is in trueimage itself.
