Searching inside text files.

I need to search all files (text or word files) that contain a specific word.Which software do u use for that.I use Everything for file search ,i need a software to search inside individual files rather indexing file names?

 

I'm sure there are others ,the ones i know are Copernic and Google desktop.
I use Google desktop at work becouse it can index the network as opposed to copernic which does so only with the paid versions although i like the interface of Copernic better.

 

If you hit winkey+F, choose everywhere, and check the box shown below under Search Tools, you will get all files containing the word/string you typed in the search box.

Only problem is you'll get both the files containing the word/string and the filenames containing the word/string.

Ya copernic is useful,i like its preview very much,but it cant see images in the text file in the preview.

Is method u told is for "everything "or normal windows search?Thanks

 

I have indexing "off" so "Everywhere" is my default search with Winkey+F.

Method works whatever "Location" is selected, however.
