    hello,
today someone said there pc was fast on friday when they first got the internet now its really slow.
so im helping him out and cleaning the crap out so far ive got,
    autoruns
    process explorer
    hoster
    kis6.0 mp1
    dr web cureit
    nod32 2.7
    unlocker
    superantispyware
    a squared free.
    .....
any other apps that could be useful and dont take to long to run?
i will only install one av at a time.
im gonna try and clean out as much as possible with the internal bases of the programs above before i put it on a network.
which means most of the programs will be out of date.
dr web cureit ive just downloaded so its got quite recent defs.
he is gonna bring the pc in to college so i can run all the tools to clean it.
thats why i noted about not going on the internet intill most of it is clean.
i have got the kaspersky zip files which i will use to update kav6.0 at there pc.

    this forum is biased!
i dont know about quick-fixes, but

id recommend running a scan with perfectdisk and tuneup and obviously run dr.web cure it, and that should be it :)

your right i shouldnt have to do many scans.
the last pc i cleaned for an idoit at college i used autoruns to get rid of most of the startup crap.
i used process explorer to see what processes are running.
and used dr web cureit i downloaded at the time he asked me for help.
that was all i had time for lol.
the dr web scan is good but it takes ages.
i might try nod32 first since the scan is alot faster and ive heard thats what other people do since its such a fast scan.

Yes . You can use it after you plug the machine to the network .

can you update antivir with zip files?
what about kav+dr web cureit+nod32+antivir workstation?
is downloading the workstation version of antivir ok? does it need a key?
if i use my antivir key i got free in it can i remove the key easy?
i dont want him using my key after that lol

ok so ive got the following
    scanners:
    nod32
    kav6.0 (with zip updates)
    dr web cure it
    antivir premium
    ...................
    other stuff:
    process explorer
    autoruns
    unlocker
i need to get him firefox with no script.
