I remember some anti-malware programs not being able to scan FAT32 drives. Is there any stand alone antimalware program that definitely scans FAT32 and able to remove any threats?

A free, on demand antimalware program is what I'm looking for now. Does Emsi, MBAM or some other similar program do this?

huh? FAT32 was the previous step before NTFS. If the host (OS) can layer it there is no doubt that any software can have access to it.

    FAT32 is still alive!

or did you experienced some other problems with your drive access?

The FAT32 is my portable hard drive. I have scanned it with anti-malware in the past to later find out the AM's have trouble scanning FAT32. Sometimes the scanner just gets hung or stalls out while scanning that format. I have my resident av and am wanting a 2nd opinion scanner for the FAT32, portable hard drive.

It may be a problem with the bus connection (usb/eSata/etc) or Driver.
Or the scanner itself, some AV have/had issues with external drives.
even Eset latest v5 had such issues.

i summon that not fat32 is our problem - more the software or hardware.
try malwarebytes if you dare ;)
