SBAUTOUPDATE caused an invalid page fault

    I'm running W98SE, fully patched, with IE 6.0 (again, latest version). I have recently been getting these invalid page faults "SBAUTOUPDATE caused an invalid page fault in module KERNEL32.DLL". Usually a restart fixes the problem, but it's a pain to have to start up twice each time. AutoUpdate is set to automatically apply the updates. The error message occurs immediately after the confirmation message appears then disappears over the systray.
    Any ideas?
