    @Mister X

    I haven't looked into it yet, but how are browser updates best handled when the browser is forced under SBIE ?

    Quick Recovery ?

    Thanks,

    You're welcome.

    Well if for best handled you mean to say best way to update the browser without issues or losing changes, disabling forced programs in Sandboxie Control (procure at least 5 minutes for disable) then fire up the browser and proceed to update, also you have the chance to update extensions/add-ons as well. Close your browser.
    Afterwards, enable forced programs and check how everything goes.

    As for your question about Quick Recovery, frankly I don't understand what it has to do here.

    Hee, hee... that's what I've been doing all along, but thought maybe there was some kind of slick trick.

    You're the best... !!

    PS - I want to talk to you about AppGuard. Can you start a Conversation when you get a moment ?

    I thought there was already a RC for version 5, but now it's still a beta?

    @bo elam, Post.# 1793.

    "I don't think your problem is the browser. Cyberfox is not officially supported by Sandboxie but I know a few users who run it sandboxed in W10 and all is well."

    > What browsers are officially supported by Sandboxie?
    > Anyone can answer?
    > Looking at K-meleon, UC Browser, and Firefox Nightly X64.

    Kind regards, with the best of intentions.

    Moose, Cyberfox is not officially supported but it works fine under Sandboxie. You shouldn't experience issues running it under Sandboxie. Officially supported? You can see what they are in Sandbox settings>Applications>Web browser.

    The installer for version 5.04 can be downloaded at the link below.
    http://www.sandboxie.com/index.php?AllVersions

    Version changes.
    http://www.sandboxie.com/index.php?VersionChanges#v_5.04
    Released on 22 September 2015.
    • Windows 10 support up to build 10547
    NOTE: Metro applications are not supported at this time. This includes the MS Edge browser. If you tell Sandboxie to start your default browser, and the default browser is Edge, Sandboxie will start IE instead.
    • Win 10 KB3081455 and Win 8.1 KB3087039 on 9/8/2015 that broke Explorer, Skype, Quicktime, and possibly other apps has been fixed.
    • The print spooler (spoolsv.exe) is now permitted to write files to the system temp folder (windows\temp) and the user temp folder (\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Temp)
    • A bug where some users in Win 8.1+ would not see any printers installed has been fixed.
    • DeleteVolumeMountPoint security vulnerability has been blocked.
    • Adobe snapshot copy/paste now supported.
    • Code was updated to use newer Microsoft SDK/DDK.
    • Fixed several issues with SandboxieRpcSs.exe that could lead to a crash or failure to start.

    Bo

    Personally I think they could have waited a couple of weeks to check the RC some more.
    I still have a few issues with it -- nothing major. Oh well, maybe these will be fixed in later versions.

    Good old MS updates! They could force a complete rewrite.
