well, I found a cute hampster, but, unfortunately it doesn't work as a desktop toy. when you run it, the screen goes black and the hampster's basket is about 300 x 500 pixels in the center of the screen. very cute, but can't run simultaneously with normal desktop activities.

WAZZDOG is the best so far, but I'm still looking for something that is a little different. maybe one that sleeps alot.

Cheers for the link to Mazzic. I always like small software
like this and this site is new to me.

I went through a craze for Desktop 'Buddies', as they were called,
but never found one I was entirely happy with. The one called Sheep
came about the closest. I have a Felix version from 2000/1 which
didn't have any of those add-ons mentioned.
I like Wazzdog but it interferes with right click/copy ;)

This page seems to have some of the originals, including the
aforementioned Sheep, plus a whole lot more

You might want to take a look at,
    www.goldfiles.com/cat.php?catid=34
    scroll down the page.
The Sheep is funny (be careful she doesn't pee on you) and there's a Black sheep in her family.

    Regards.

'LOL, i have my Desktop full of sheeps '

lol - I was the same when I first downloaded it
and it cracked me up when the aliens came and
    abducted it :)

I dig it out out every now and then for a laugh
Let us know if you find anything similar

There was another called Little Fella which was pretty
impressive at the time. Well worth looking for. He did
all sorts of curious things. Not as cute as the sheep
    all the same :)
