    Hello,

Can anyone help me with this error. Spybot is not able to fix this.

RUNDLL error a week before the infection not sure if it is related (if no please ignore will deal with that at a later stage):
Error loading C:\PROGRA~1\MYWEBS~1\bar\1.bin\MWSBAR.DLL. The specified module could not be found.

    Many thanks.

MWSBAR.DLL seems to be associated with MyWebSearch.com:-

Some people consider this toolbar to be dubious:-

I really don't know what you've been doing but I'm going to guess that Spybot, or some other scanner, attempted to remove MyWebSearch and managed to get rid of the MWSBAR.DLL, so that when you booted Rundll tried to find it but failed - hence the error message.

If you are still getting these messages you may need to ammend your Registry so that Rundll.exe stops looking for MWSBAR.DLL at bootup; that might require you to post a HijackThis log at a suitable Forum.

    Hello Texcritter & TopperID!

It appears that you were both right so I have followed both your advice.
I had Trojan viruses. AVG obviously did not protect me (I run updates every day) so I used AVAST which removed at least 6 of them. I only have POWER OPTIONS under control panel is that the one (no POWER MANAGEMENT). The RUNDLL error no longer comes up.

The same goes for the My WebSearch tool bar. My daughter used this to change the appearance of her cursor etc… I have remove this from our laptop.

Thank you very much indeed :D
