Before I try this, I would like to get some opinions of success or disaster.

I am running a Linux distro (Mint) in which I have installed VMware Workstation and created a Windows virtual machine. In VMware terms, Linux host, windows guest.

First of all, can I install and run true Image in the windows virtual machine?

Then, if so, can I do an image of the Linux partition from that virtual machine?

You'll only be able to image drives or partitions that the VM has direct access to so you can't image the Linux drive that's hosting the VM. You'd have to boot to the TI CD to image the Linux partition.

TI should install and run okay in a VM. However, depending on the situtation, it may be easier to just backup the VM's drive file by copying it.
