rootkit question

    hi all

    iv seen a lot of stuff around the wilders board lately about rootkits but I don't really understand what they are and who is actually affected by these things

    now from what I can gather its some sort of new super sneaky way to infect peoples computers with god knows what but that about as far as I got and I was wondering if someone could explain this to me

    thanks for the link tell you what that sounds rarther nasty is there any way to check for the presents of these things on older systems like 9x and me ??
