They have been tested in the latest VB RAP.
And got just a tad higher score than BitDefender.

Here one can see wich definitions they add to their own engine.

Though it got no updates between Oct 21 and Nov 04 :doubt:

Another bit defender engine means it would also score well.

    Nothing exciting for us

Exciting would be the Free Antivirus if it stays stable compared to ZenOK.

I think they translated the article to english and posted it on the english site. Their free version has been out for a while, just not in english.

You can try - there is a possibility that the Korean version will actually work in English even if the installer is not in English (This was true for the old Virus Chaser and the older Japanese versions of Trend Micro PC-cillin called Virus Buster).

That's interesting. Is this a new trend (combining existing engines with your own)?

True but I wonder if G Data, Trustport, Coranti have any in house technology..!!o_O Ideal examples are F Secure, Emsisoft, BullGuard, Outpost, eScan etc.

Re: ESTsoft ALYac Antivirus Basic Free: Uses BitDefender and ESTsoft’s Tera Engine

AFAIK GDATA does have a lot of its own scan logic - custom drivers, anti-rootkit drivers/scan, behaviour blocking engine, etc.

GDATA is (IMO) the best of the multi-engine products (other than F-Secure), mainly because it has the tightest integration of the engines.

GDATA, however, has other issues such as support.....

Roboscan & Alyac seems to be the same?

Does free Roboscan Internet Security has automatic updates? When did this released?

    Will try to test it.

Any info which Bitdefender version engine its using, latest or which version of Bitdefender?

AFAIK they are the same, the name change is there so that it will be more appealing to global markets.

It does offer automatic updates, with an option to update via P2P.

The English one has just been released, while the first version of its Korean counterpart dates back in 2008.
