    Hello,

I was browsing through the forums and found a couple posts where their systems locked up and could not boot properly after installing.

From all the reviews I've read, TI seems like the best product, but am very wary of doing anything that could damage my current system. Any truth to this and should I be apprehensive about installing the trial version?

    Thanks.

I heard that Ghost 9 requires online activation. Is that true? (TrueImage 8 does not)

Ghost 9 is over-priced. Nuff said... Acronis rocks.

Not from what Ive seen. Ive been a Powerquest v2i beta tester since version 1 and up to Ghost 9. v2i is a far superior product to TI if you have even slightly bespoke hardware due to the nature of the unix powered restore disk. Its useless until Acronis build those hardware drivers into it. Even Ghost 1 had BIOS Int 13 support.

No, no online activation required from what Ive seen of it so far. it does launch "an optional online registration" that you can just close.

That's enough of the alternative software plugging/advertising in the Acronis support forum - Detox
