    Hi,

I recenly purcahed some software on e-bay that was delivered to me via e-mail (first red flag), then when I unzip the files, one of them is a banner that says "Ripped by F.O.S.I." (second red flag). Anybody know the story with this? I did a google and it looks like this may or may not be hacked software which may or may not carry something with it.

That would be pirated software. I'd be looking for a refund.

Is it just pirated (and I don't use pirated software), or is there some type of malware in it also? I already downloaded it but have not installed it.

Sounds like a spam/scam email to me also. Maybe it wasn't Ebay at all.
I get spam/scam emails from PayPal too that look like PayPal emails, but that is very easy to do for a Scam Artist.
Only buy software from a reliable source and email is certainly not one of them. I doubt you will get a refund. :'(

No, it was an ebay auction and my own stupidity - the fact that it was to come through e-mail should have tipped me off.

Btw - as soon as I questioned the seller, a refund appeared in my paypal account.
