Reuters: Russian antivirus firm faked malware to harm rivals

    If Kaspersky is working hard on all the detections, and the cheapass AV's are simply copy/pasting from Kaspersky's database, they have the perfect right to cook up a harmless fake virus, and catch the cheaters.
    If I remember correctly, didn't Malwarebytes do something similar in the past to catch the cheaters ?

    @DOSawaits What Malwarebytes was completely different. They included some definitions in thier database for non existant malware to catch others who were stealing their definitions.
