    Hi,

I began encrypting a non-empty USB hard drive with Truecrypt, however the encryption was interrupted (likely by USB being powered off by the OS after I left it overnight to run). When attempting to resume, Truecrypt can recognise the % I was up to (~7%), however it recognises errors/bad sectors which it asks to attempt to repair. After attempting repair for a long period of time, it gives an error saying it cannot resume.

Is there anything else I can do here to coax it to resume or to somehow reverse partial encryption?

I have been able to get file structure and recover some files using GetDataBackNTFS, however many are corrupted.

    Any other suggestions? Many thanks.

My suggestion is to de-crypt that drive, back up all data, then do a S.M.A.R.T. check (for bad sectors), then try encrypting it again.
