Using AT10 is it possible to restore ONLY the MBR from a backup image? If so, how, using the bootable restore CD?

Yes. Boot from the TI bootable media, probably a CD you made, and hit restore. Check only the MBR line and hit proceed. That did it for me. Takes less than a second.

OS Selector from DD doesn't recognize OEM OSs, which is all I have on board. I could only boot to DD and couldn't get to my OS. This action fixed it. For a novice like me, it was a bit scary. Good luck.

Yes. The MBR is treated distinctly from the partitions.

Just to be clear: Your question was "Can you ONLY restore..."

foghorne answered Yes. However, that could be taken to mean that you can ONLY restore the MBR when you're using dual or multi-boot system.

The MBR can be restored regardless of what's on the rest of the drive. The drive could contain a single OS on a single partition or five different OS's on five different partitions.

Whatever the MBR was in the image is what will be restored when you select this option. If it's XP's MBR, then that's what will be restored. If it's Vista's MBR, then that's what will be restored. If you have GRUB or OSS installed to the MBR, then that's what will be restored.
