I'm now running XP but want to dual boot Vista. XP is now on my 500GB and one partition, so I'll partition this with partitioning software, keeping XP on C:

I've made an image of my current XP system - if for some reason XP is lost during the partitioning, would I be able to restore the XP image even if the new C: partition is a different size ?

    Thanks.

    Hello BeachNut,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

We are sorry for delayed response.

Please notice, however, that if you restore a Windows XP image taken before the dual boot setup was created, it's likely to prevent Vista from booting (due to how Windows handles multiboot installations).

    Thank you.
