Hi. This is the first time I am using T.I. 11 for restoring and everything went right except for Outlook Express. I have backed up O.E . using the application settings backup option and restoring it brought back only the address book but not the entire folders system which existed on my previous disk, nor the hundreds of emails which I kept there.
    Somebody can help please ?
Any advice where to locate these lost emails and folders ?
I still have the old disk, I just can't find where all this stuff is hiding.
    Thanks in advance.

How is your old disk laid out? By that I mean is it in an image form or a complete 'open' copy of a hard drive?

If a complete copy of a hardrive then your Outlook Express folders will, unless altered by someone, live in

    C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR_LOG_ON_NAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

You should be able to either import or manually move the complete folder over to your new system.

If you used the XP transfer files and settings utility, then you can use that to bring everything back to the right place. It is also worth checking that OE is looking in the right place for the files.

    Hello Shmuel,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

Please notice that Application Settings backup only saves files and registry entries of the respective program that contain it's settings. To back up your e-mail, we recommend you to use "My E-mail backup" procedure.

Alternatively, you could manually back up/copy the necessary files, as explained by bodgy.

You can find the detailed instructions on how to use Acronis True Image 11 Home in the respective User's Guide.

If you have any further questions concerning Acronis software, please feel free to submit a request for technical support or post any of them on this forum. We will certainly try to help you in resolving any issues.

    Thank you.

I believe that the path given by bodgy is for Outlook rather than for Outlook Express. I'm seeing the files at:
    C:\Documents and Settings\[user name]\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\[IdentityNumber]\Microsoft\Outlook Express

Note that some of these folders are hidden and need to be enabled in Windows.
