Restore partition from same HD partition

I've searched the forum and the documentation but am unable to find clear and concise information on this... perhaps someone finds this easy to answer?

Scenario:

I've created a full image of a partition on the same HD and partition (it's one big 27 Gb "C:" drive...). I've not copied the TIB files to any alternate media, they only reside in that one location. I now wish to restore my HD to the state represented by the TIB files.

Will TI 8.0 allow restoration of the same HD partition from TIB files residing in that partition? Or must they be located in a partition or media that is not targeted for restoration?
