    Hello,

I mistakenly formatted my HDD in CHS mode. Now, I want to create an image of this drive with Acronis True Image, set its transfer mode to LBA and then restore the image. Will this work? And, if it will, should I restore MBR as well? The disk is an active Windows XP partition.

    Thank you!

    basil_555,

Does your OS still boot if you change the BIOS to LBA?

Then you are OK. Leave it as LBA and make your image. You don't need to do anything with the MBR.

Actually, I've already created my image when I was in CHS mode. Can I restore it now without restoring MBR?

I should think so. Forget the MBR. It's irrelevant for what you are doing.
