Hi, I had a Trojan problem and followed the steps in Blackspears very comprehensive advice of Sept. 14, 2004. This process identified a variety of issues and appeared to resolve them.
Having restarted Windows (XP Pro) the desktop icons are very slow in appearing. None at first (only the background) and then they gradually appear with the pointer hourglass showing.
When they are all present it is difficult to activate any function without the hourglass reappearing and virtually no progress bening made.
Any suggestions? Do I need to turn system restore back on (turned off during the healing process) or is there something else that could be casuing the computer to be nearly frozen?

    Thanks

    Hello,

Just to eliminate the possiblity of some form of malware remaining on your system u may want to post a HijackThis log over at this site,

    http://gladiator-antivirus.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=10517

for analysis by the experts there. If infections are indeed still present they will give u recommendations on removal.
