Rescue disc don't load ...

Hi,
A buddy of mine has Acronis V9.
When using his rescue disc to load it for a restore , it hangs and shoots this message: PCI cannot allocate resource region 9 of bridge 00.03.0 and PCI cannot allocate resource region 9 of bridge 00.03.1.
I told him to hit key f11 and use the command line: quiet acpi=off noapic
It still hangs and does not load.

The most likely cause is that the Linux drivers are not compatible with his system.

Your buddy has a couple of choices.

If he wants to stick with V9 he should check he has the latest build. Note. The version on the CD needs to be the latest build, not just the version which is installed under Windows.

Alernatively you might recommend to him that he downloads the trial of v11 and burn a recovery CD and try that.

Hi Foghorne,
I already asked him for the build number of his Acronis 9 and I'm still awaiting.
He's in France and me in Canada.
As far as build number version and cd rescue, this is something I'm aware of and that I shall check with him ,if ever I have an answer.
