    Hi
    I decided to "trial" ESS V4 RC1 and it appears that ekrn.exe uses a lot of memory space.
    Memory Usage=47288
    VM Size=43456
    IMHO ...... this seems a bit high to me. :doubt:

    Is this usage normal?
    Is anyone else getting this type of memory usage?
    Is there a method to reduce this usage?

    Thanks for any constructive feedback.
    Cheers :)

    @Triple Helix
    Thanks for your response.

    Based on the lack of replies,(some 74 posters read it) it would appear that all the testers have a smaller footprint .... is that a correct assumption?
    Cheers :)

    @elapsed
    Thanks for pointing out that thread.
    I did read it and it would appear that it was a reference to the AV only and NOT ESS.
    I beg to differ on your assessment that "No one cares, it's still low".
    Users SHOULD care and I consider ESS V4 to be high in it's memory usage.
    I have ESS V3 on two (2) PC's, and it does not use as much memory as V4 .... I have something to compare, so please spare me the patronizing dismissal. o_O
    I had asked for some clarification, and you have provided your feedback, so we will agree to disagree. :(
    Thanks for your time.
    Cheers :)

    I beg to differ too, that thread is both ESS and EAV, as pointed out by my post in that thread. The confusion lays between the two programs, and the different Operating Systems.

    You're using an AV with the lowest memory usage and you still care?

    Considering the next evolution of PC will have 6gb of RAM as standard, I think I'm correct in my assessment that nobody cares.

    EDIT: Steam hardware survey January 09: http://store.steampowered.com/hwsurvey
    RAM - 2.0 Gb and above - (+2.70%) 61.31%

    I said we agree to disagree, therefore, I have no interest to argue the point with you.
    Thanks for your time.
