REPLACE NORTON'S WITH NOD32

Yes... I don't think that AVG or Norton are good antivirus, but Avast I like and I understand that many times NOD32 is better than Avast!. Many times NOD32 detects virus that Kaspersky don't, but NOD32 don't detects many old viruses... Itsn't right.

 

I replaced Norton's with McAfee, and then I replaced McAfee with Trend. Until yesterday I never heard of NOD32 or KAV. How does a person keep up with all these programs?

I did a Google search on "anti virus software" and another on "antivirus software" and neither of these programs came up on the first page. Are they really new?

Down the middle of the second page of hits was NOD32 Antivirus System and Kaspersky Lab - Antivirus Software next to each other, but since I had never heard of them, I don't think I would have been apt to try them without someone I trust recommending them.

 

Kav and nod have both been around for a few years. Both are very very good antivirus programs

 

You're right. I sent some old viruses to ESET which NOD32 doesn't detect. They replied me that all these samples were haste. Personally, I think nowadays there is no chance to be infected by these old viruses (they cannot run under Windows 2000/XP and so on...).
