    Hi,
    This is how i resolved this problem;
    i first used the following command;
    Click on "Start" -->Run-->type cmd and click on OK.

    The drive letter for my flush drive was:j

    then i entered the following command:

    attrib -h -r -s /s /d j:\*.*

    This created the same copy of the folder but without the short-cuts.I then deleted the other folders with short-cuts.
    Next step i did was downloaded the ComboFix file and followed the instructions on how to use and all worked fine.
    Thanks for the advice.
    john
