Don't use the current Cleanup Utility program with TI 2009.

You should be able to unlock the TI 2009 trial version with your purchased serial number (you shouldn't have to uninstall the trial version).

    MudCrab,

Would love to do that but NewEgg sales message said there was no "unlock" code needed!!!!

Wonder if i could just re-install the newegg version over the trial versiono_O

No unlock code = no registration code? While i trust newegg,
i hope this is a legal version...

    thanks,
    savagcl

Prior to TI2009, Acronis' trial version did not contain pieces of code for some functions. It had to be removed and the real version installed. In most cases the normal uninstall is adequate. With TI2009 the method has changed, all the code is present in the trial but the serial number key unlocks the missing functions. The NewEgg people might have the earlier versions in mind.

Thanks for the input but my question still remains:

How do i remove the trial version so i can install the newegg
    version?

    thanks,
    savagcl

PS: I don't think just a simple windows uninstall will do it
properly because of the HD partition that ATI uses.

I never use the secure zone but I would think all you need to do is go into the Secure Zone management area and delete it. Then do the uninstall.

It could be that the uninstall might delete it anyway or if it doesn't the new installation would see that it is on the drive and link to it.

    seekforever,

    Thanks for the info.

Since the acronis guys are kinda slow answering (if ever), I'll try it. Sounds
like the best solution so far. Think i'll leave the secure zone, at worst it will
ignore the present one and make another. I can always delete what is not
    needed.

I can always do a full install of vista (but prefer not to). :)

    thanks again,
    savagcl

    Hello all,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

Please accept our apologies for the delay with the response.

It is not required to remove Acronis Secure Zone to install the full version. Here are the instructions how to uninstall:

1.Completely uninstall any previous version of Acronis True Image (including all the trial versions of the product). (Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs).

2.Delete all files in \Documents and Settings\[Account Name]\Local Settings\Temp\ folder by running Disk Cleanup wizard from the system drive (e.g. C:) Properties (remember to check the Temporary Files checkbox).

3.Download the Microsoft CleanUp Utility, install and run it.

4.Select the Acronis product you are trying to install and hit Remove.

5.Install the full version of the software.

    Thank you.
