    Yep, validity may be a better word.
    IMO, it's better to combine a install monitor/uninstall utility with something like FD-ISR/Rollback and a simple tool to remove junk files and MRUs.
    Or use something like Altiris SVS.

    agree fully. I don't use them for real just for fun. On different machines I find I am using FD-ISR, DeepFreeze, and Returnil. all imaged.

    Now if only Bill Gates could produce an OS that didn't contain loads of junk even with a clean install these cleaners would not be needed.
