I'm using RegSeeker 1.35 and it works very well, but I do have a question about this (and the previous version).

How do you find the duplicate files and bad shortcuts.

Is there a way to do this because I have tried to find how to get this new feature to function, and just can't figure out how to do it.

Anyone able to point me in the right direction on this one.

    Hi zarzenz,

Unless I'm blind as a bat, which is possible, Regseeker doesn't have those options.
You may be thinking of EasyCleaner:

    Hi Douglas,

Well, this is taken from the RegSeeker site...

    RegSeeker 1.35:

RegSeeker is a perfect companion for your Windows registry !
RegSeeker includes a powerful registry cleaner and can display various informations like your startup entries, several histories (even index.dat files), installed applications and much more ! With RegSeeker you can search for any item inside your registry, export/delete the results, open them in the registry. RegSeeker also includes a tweaks panel to optimize your OS ! Now RegSeeker includes a file tool to search for duplicate files, bad shortcuts and more !

So at the bottom here it clearly says it now has a file tool to do these duplicate and shortcut searches.

The previous version also stated the same... but I'm unable to have ever found how to do it.

It's kinda getting to be a mystery for me.

So I am hoping someone may have cracked it.

Problem is... there is not much in the way of support for this cleaner. Back in the good old days of the JV16 forum, any problems like this could be sorted out in seconds with JV's cleaners, but RegSeeker, as good as it is, is very much an install and get on with it product with little in the way of help provided.

Anyway... thanks for your response... we'll see if anyone has the answer to this teaser.

    Ok

    I have old version 1.30.

    Go to "find in registry"
( first option at top of page)

Then Check "search files" and all these options will appear!

I check for duplicate files and bad shortcuts all the time.

    Hope this helps

    Thanks snowbound,

    Wow... I don't believe it.

So easy... and I actually figured it myself after seeing your screenshot... it was the search thing that did it. I ticked that little box and up it came.

Why on earth did I have a mental block never to do that before I will never know.

I guess I was expecting to see it in the panel on the left.

Thank you very much for this.
