Today I got from PC World the announcement that On March 14, the new, more powerful, and easier to use Registry First Aid 4.0 is being released to the public, but PC World users can try this hot new release right now!

I have not heard of it. Has anyone here tried it, and what is your assessment?
Here is some additional information provided.
    [
FEATURE HIGHLIGHTS FOR REGISTRY FIRST AID 4.0:

    * Easy to use, step-by-step Wizard type interface.
    * Easy to understand safety levels of found registry errors: Safe to
modify, Caution and Extreme Caution - easy for beginners to use.
    * Registry First Aid scans registry for orphan file/folder references.
    * Corrects registry entries to the located objects.
    * If your registry still retains links to files of deleted
applications, Registry First Aid will find these invalid entries and
    help you easily remove them.
    * The Backup Manager allows you to restore any single registry entry
from the .reg backup files. You can even search backup files for
keywords to help in restoring special items. ]

    Thanks,.

Thanks to you both. I am not sure if I will give it a try, but wondered if it was a good program. Someone here always has some experience.

I have looked at the various lists of programs that various ones have to provide security. Some of the lists are staggering.
In my own case I have a "bunch" of utilities, and I think some either duplicate or overlap.
    Most involve spyware security.
Spyware Guard, Spyware Blaster, Adaware, Spybot, XCleaner, Microsoft Anti Spyware, and today I downloaded a trial of Spy Sweeper. I am not convinced that I need all of those. I also have BHO Demon, Win Patrol, CW Shredder, CCleaner, Regseeker, LooknStop, Bit Defender 8.0, Ewido paid, and Mwav scanner.
Where does it all end?? o_O

Until this year I had only NAV, Kerio 2.1.5, Adaware, Spybot, and Proximotron. I never had any trouble. Now the more I read, the more I need. :D :D

Anyway, thanks for the help. I am just wondering if I need all these utilities. I am a safe surfer.

    Jerry
