I use NTREGOPT (free-ware which comes with ERUNT). It is the only registry cleaner that has not caused problems on my machine. Some other cleaners have even trashed my entire OS partition.

I remained skeptical of all registry cleaners until I heard that NTREGOPT was particularly well configured and very simple to use as it is nearly idiot proof.

I have use it on about a dozen XP partitions without any problems. I have 5 hard drives with XP's on them (both home editions and pro editions).

Perhaps it will be as friendly on other set-ups.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but NTREGOPT is a registry optimizer (i.e., it is not, and does not do any registry cleaning).

Right, NTREGOPT defrags the registry hives.
