I accidentally erased a file from an ext HD. The drive is recognized by win 7 and is working normally. When I use Recuva, I follow the wizard and indicate the file is on e:\, which the program accepts. However, when I tell the program to "start" at the last step, it gives me an error message "can't open drive". I've googled the problem - most posts concern dealing with a corrupted drive. That's not my problem - my drive is fine. Any thoughts on this? Thanks, Len P.S. File is not critical - I can live without it if necessary, but would like to understand why this is happening.
