Recovering data from a recenly formatted HD

    It seems that in your situation the filesystem was trashed. Any undelete program that needs an intact filesystem for recovery will likely fail in that case. I recently tested Recuva (with 'Deep Scan' off) vs. Undelete Plus v2.8 on an intact filesystem. Both found roughly 50,000 possible candidates for recovery. The file candidate list seemed similar. There was one huge difference though: Recuva took approximately 1 minute to do the scan, while Undelete Plus took about 25-30 minutes.
