Recording a program question (Media Center w/ TV Tuner)

    Sorry in advance if this is a stupid question, but I just connected a cable coax to the TV tuner on my Win 7 PC. Using 'Media Center'......in order to schedule a recording, does your computer have to be ON or will it still record an event even if the PC is OFF?

    Testing this out earlier today, I scheduled a recording through the guide and turned off my computer. However it did not record the program when I checked back a few hours later.

    Thanks JRViejo. Very useful link that answered my question.

    So the computer does need to be on to record scheduled events through Media Center. Kinda sucks. :thumbd:
