i have this error problem at the end of the installation (121) Nod32Mod_Winnt_English

i really don't know how i re-installed my NOD32, after talking to NOD support group for more than an hour we cannot fixed that problem at Safe mode and normal mode.

i was just lucky one day that i try it again at normal windows mode and got the installation correct.

my question is, i'm ready to buy 1yr subscription but still in doubt because one day i might need to uninstall/re-install my NOD32 and might encounter the error problem again and not to install NOD32 for good.

i check this thread but theres no clear answer. https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?p=581179

    any suggestion?

    thanks!

Hi there, this is a Windows error on your computer that NOD32 is reporting.

Please check that the following files exist:

    C Drive> Windows> Temp

    C Drive> Documents and Settings> (User Name) XXXXXX> Local Settings> Temp

Do the "Temp and TMP" folders exist in "Environmental Variables" when you right click on My Computer as per the screenshots found in this link? https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?p=764434#post764434

When you then navigate to the folders mentioned in "Environmental Variables" are they actually there?

This error message is solely related to the following:
    • Not enough space on disk
    • Missing Temp folder(s)
    • Insufficient rights to write to Temp folder
    • Possibly a damaged archive, although it's unlikely.
    • Permissions on the directories, not share permissions, but actual security permissions.

    Please see here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315265

Sometimes the only method is to delete and reinstall the Temp folders.

You can also try running this file http://www.nod32.it/getfile.php?tool=settmp it will set both the user and system TEMP/TMP variables to c:\windows\temp. Just make sure the folder exists.

    Please also complete the following:

    For Windows XP:

    Click on Start
    Click on Run
    Type in cmd
    Click on OK
    Type in netsh winsock reset
(Please note there are spaces between the netsh and winsock and reset)

    Press ENTER
    Restart your computer.

AFTER the above please go to the NOD32 Control Centre
    Click on IMON
Click on Start and restart IMON.

    Then reboot your PC.

If the above does not work due to an issue with Windows, then please download WinsockXPfix from here: http://www.spychecker.com/download/download_winsockxpfix.html and run this program following the prompts. After the reboot start IMON as described above.

Failing the above, please complete the following:

    Click on "Start".
    Click on "Run".
    Copy and paste the following:

    “C:\Program Files\ESET\Install\setup.exe” /test

    Then click on "OK".

If this comes up with an error message then please complete the following:

    Click on Start
    Click on Run

    Browse to the C Drive
    Program Files
    Eset
    Install

    Click on setup.exe

    Click on ok

Then add a space and /test after the quotation marks

When the installation/setup has finished, look in C:\Program Files\ESET\Install directory. There you will find a file named “nsetup.log”. Double click it and it will open a new document in Notepad. Forward a copy of this support @ eset.com and they will review the logs and recommend further action.

    Cheers :D

so the cause of this error message is missing temp folders.

i check if the temp folder exist but i can't find the folder.

i run chkdsk to be sure theres 0 badsector report.

before i'll run the link you give me (nod32.it), is there any problem because i'm using vista?

also in-case i have problem with IMON, your next step is setup.exe...no need to uninstall my existing nod32 AV or just go ahead with setup.exe because i'm just looking for the nssetup.log and not re-installing nod32?

    thanks BS!!

Hi there, all of the above will be fine under Vista. This is an error on your system and it is a matter of finding the exact cause, usually the error indicates temp/tmp folders missing.

    Cheers :D

In many cases, installing it in SAFE MODE will work.
