i'm reasonbly concerned! i certainly don't do anything hinky on the 'net nor is my business of any consequence, but reports indicate a certain lack of discrimination! does ESS provide protection against such an intrusion?
Many new variants of threats emerge on a daily basis and there's no security solution that detects 100% of all threats. That said, do not completely rely on your security solution but also take preventive security measures yourself.
thank you both for your replies. SweX, your post provided me some comfort marcos, ess has provided me excellent protection for the years i've used it. what other measures would you recommend? thanks
imo common sense. dont click links that look suspicious, dont open files you dont know what they are or where they came from, do not open emails from people you dont know saying you have a package you missed or asking for your credit card info or saying something about your bank etc.. these are almost always fake. dont use keygens, or cracked software. doing these things alone would almost keep you virus free. but eset is one of the best out there.
hey thanks zfactor i appreciate the time. what you describe is exactly my behaviour in that i *don't* summarily click. would you mind please explaining keygens [are they key generators!??!] and also cracked software. thanks!
keygens are programs that generate fake lic keys for programs so yes a key generator, cracks are to use paid programs illegally. MANY times these contain some sort of virus or malware. not to mention they are illegal to use them to steal copyrighted programs.
