Strange I tried using firefox downloader and no pop-ups. But when I used Free Download Manager with the unins000.exe FP earlier, nod32 quickly set me an alert.

    Could they be related ?

I know that the unins000.exe problem has been fixed. But this still exists -

11/10/2008 5:17:12 AM - Module Real-time file system protection - Threat Alert triggered on computer unknown: C:\Documents and Settings\****\Desktop\quicktimealt270.exe contains a variant of Win32/Adware.Antivirus2008 application.

If I run firefox download manager, there was no pop-up, but with Free Download Manager, it came out with an alert.

No problem here with Free download manager and quicktimetimealt270.exe, no warning appeared when I downloaded the file.

I use FDM 2.5 Lite. Just tried again, still problem persists.

Could you please restore the file from quarantine and send it in a password protected archive to samples[at]eset.com with this thread's url in the subject? I've tried again and the file was reported clean even when downloaded using FDM 2.5.

First of all, I took no action ( ignore - therefore not quarantined ) and installed the program yesterday. It was detected in real-time, but after it had completely downloaded, I on-demand scan it, and it was clean.

My issue is not the file, it was the real-time false alert.

By the way, I went to support at eset.com, and all I got was a form to fill and no place to submit any attachment.

Can you pls give me the support e-mail address if you still want the sample.

    Thanks.

Maybe it was detected as a potentially unwanted application? In such case, there's an option to quarantine the file in the advanced option section of the alert window. Please make sure it's found in quarantine, then restore it and send it in a password protected archive to samples[at]eset.com with this thread's url in the subject.
