    Hello,
    To answer your question:
I have an amd 64 machine and run on it suse 10.1 64-bit. However, some apps I run, like amarok, firefox and java are 32-bit. So no worries there. You can run 64-bit apps for max. optimization, but 32-bit apps will also run very well. There's no 64-bit firefox, so it would be a waste of resources if not compatiblity to install a 64-bit java plugin for it. Likewise, avg for linux is also a 32-bit app. No problems there at all.
    So, go ahead and enjoy.
Remember - linux is not windows - things actually work.
    Mrk

under windows x64, u can run still 32-bit apps (except various security software and programs using drivers). i wasnt sure if it was the same with linux.

thanx very much for the confirmation tho.
