    Hi to all,
Unfortunately I suspect that a "strange beast" has been introduced into my system (Win7-Pro 64bit)
Since I don't have time e desire for checks and scansions, I would have thought to use a very simple operation, that
is to format the whole hdd and then restore a clean backup image......quick, simple and painless!! ;)

    The only my doubt is:
Can be sure 100% that doing a low-level format (with the utility of manifacturer) any virus, trojan, malware etc,
is totally removed??.....even the most recent and sophisticated rootkits, such as those for MBR attack?
    Thanks.

If it was me, I'd just remove the virus. However, just restoring the clean image should be enough.

Do delete all partitions/ disk as well and make a new partition table.

DBAN doesn't wipe everything, but you're right that it's enough in virtually all scenarios.

Thank you very much for your quick responses!:thumb:

However as I said, before restoring the clean backup image, will execute a LOW-LEVEL format to hdd!..... So I think that
any beast (of course except the malwares of BIOS) "should" disappear....it's right?
