I have just purchased TI 8.0 and installed it on my server at home. At present, I have only one workstation networked to my server. Do I need to purchase an additional license to use the product to backup my workstation?

On another note, I have found the incremental backup somewhat baffling. Instead of appending changes to the original image as W2K does, TI 8.0 instead creates a supplementary file. How will this affect the restore process when booting with the rescue cd?

    Hello Robert,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

You need to have one license for each computer you want to image. If you want to create images of the workstation only but store the images on the servers you don't need another license. But if you wish to create images of both the server and the workstation you will need to purhcase two licenses.

As for incremental images, each incremental image is a separate file that depends on previous incremental (or full if there is no previous incrementals). When you restore the image you my choose any file from the set (full or any subsequent incremental) and you will be presented with the list of possible dates to which you may restore. You need to choose the date you wish and Acronis True Image will find all the necessary images itself.

    Thank you.
