Questions about Hamachi

Hello there,

I'm pretty noob about all of the internet security, but i'd like to ask few things about Hamachi.

We know that Hamachi is meant for VPN connections, chatting, nice for online gaming, etc. What's meant by VPN is that you install Hamachi in the computers you want, for example, and you join your Hamachi channel, from where you can access to your other computer's desktop, or whatever else you want.

But, i would like to know some thing if it's possible. It might be utopian question, but still:

Hamachi gives you some special IP (through its encrypted "traffic"). I want to know is it possible to use that Hamachi's IP (5.79.139.***) as your computer's IP (basically as VPN) to surf the internet? I've tried many ways to mess with it, but without results.

Please, don't laugh or scream here, because i just want to know. For educational purposes.

I'm thinking about installing this freebie and would appreciate any comments on your positive/negative experiences with this program. Everything i've read so far seems positive.

I would also be interested in lan gaming - say 2-4 players. Any game recommendations (possibly Freebies).

New to these forums, found it by searching for Hamachi.

Wikipedia has a pretty good discussion going as far as the pro's and con's of the software itself. In regards to lan gaming, I do know that a large majority of Hamachi users use it for this, but compatibility is relative to each game.
