After a NOD32 scan I see a lot of files in blue that are password protected.

    Example:

    C:\RECYCLER\NPROTECT\00130431.rbf »ZIP »WOW.EXE - error - the file is password-protected

    Anybody know what these are?

Sorry for all the questions, I'm a new user and just want to understand everything about NOD32.

    Thanks

    Dan

They are PW protected and as such cannot be scanned, they are a locked file. No need to worry. The other type of file you will see that is locked, is a “Swap File” which is in use by Windows, again this is normal, nothing to worry about.

No need to apologize, ask away…

    Cheers :D

    Thanks Blackspear!

Wintasks looks like an interesting utility, Do you use it?

These files that are remnants of Norton, were they quarantined items, or possibly a definition
    to protect against?

    No, never tried this one.

I only went hunting for the information on this one, so I don't know any further, though I would presume it is some form of quarantining by Norton.

    Cheers :D

NProtect is a part of Systemworks......protects you from deleting stuff from recycle bin accidentally
