PCLOS based SAM 2007.1 Linux runs absolutely fine too with Xfce on my Acer Aspire 3002 WLMi laptop with 448mb RAM usable. It's actually much faster than my newer Compaq Presario V6000 laptop with 1024mb RAM usable in WinXP Media Center Edition System. :)

    Best regards,
    Firefighter!

I'm wondering if it's possible to run a Distro in Ubuntu Using VirtualBox (Open Source) I've been looking at Zenwalk and it's really neat. Could I run the ISO of the LiveCD in Virtual Box?

The Zenwalk Live CD doesn't have an install function as far as I can make out. Maybe the installer ISO would work better?

you can install bootchart to see what's slowing the boot process
    sudo apt-get install bootchart

then after you boot the chart will be in /var/log/bootchart, it should take about 35 seconds

    Yes you can.
Unless you don't have a CD drive, or don't want to write a CD, I would just boot from a CD, though.

Got it up and running Wilbert. Unfortunately, VirtualBox stalled for about 5 m. on the download and it's not running smoothly. I'll have to delete it and start again.

Incidentally, why would you prefer to boot from the Live CD rather than a HD image? It seems to me that the ISO in VirtualBox runs a lot faster.

Reinstalled VirtualBox and it's running really smoothly now.
