I never tried it in low security setting. I felt better with it in training mode. Maybe I shouldn't be so paranoid about allowing inbound connections.

I use training mode, works great, no problems with it, although i do agree with Lodore, some files like SAS's updater file constantly cause Kaspersky FW to ask whether to allow the changed file to update or not. It does make the FW more secure, but an option to disable this would be nice.

Lodore, did you try to add it to TrustedZone>TrustedApplication and tick all the boxes?

no i didnt but i might do that because i feel safer with training mode.
and the sas updator was about the only thing stopping me from using it.
dont i just need to use the do not scan network traffic option?
but i need to find the sas updator file first shouldnt be to hard.

Try with all of them ticked first, if it doesnt help, go back to "Low"... if it works, then try to play around with the boxes to see which one helps... standard process of elimination, there's no point clicking one box if you dont know in the first place if "any" are going to help or not, just end up waisting time then ;)

I ran mine in training mode for 2 weeks, then put it in high security with no real issues.

It does not let you to allow traffic to individual hosts. You can only open ports to all, or the entire subnet, not just one specific IP address. Insufficient firewall rule editing. This actually I mixed up with OneCare, KIS does allow advanced rules.

Also, when I run a Nessus scan on it from within my LAN, my file sharing sessions were disrupted, when the IDS module was disabled.
