I've got a question about the size of virus definition updates. How large are they in AVs like, NOD32, KAV, PC-cillin or BitDefender. I know with NAV, when you download their daily betas/rapid updates, it around 5-6 MB. Seems like that's quite a bit to me. Are the updates in these other AVs the same size?

With NOD32 the first update is around 2Mb but then they're incremental (for registered users), I think only a few kbs. Goes too fast for me to tell. I don't remember the size of BitDefender's updates but I know that frequently after BD's update the program has to restart itself and on occasion, the OS needs restarted after an update.

For Kaspersky it's usually between 20-100kb's. Today they've all been between 30-50kb's.

Thank you. Those daily betas/rapidreleases for NAV are big.

Here with ArcaVir updates range from 250-900kb...still not too much.
