question about ten-forward

    does "ten-forward" actually have any meaning? who made it up?

    It was a default forum section created at the installation of one of the earlier forum software packages. It might have been YaBB SP1 Gold that created it, and we just kept it through all the upgrades and conversions.

    There are other forums among some of our peers that have a "ten-forward" section for their social postings. I believe the term itself comes from Star Trek, The Next Generation.

    I've lobbied for a name change to ... ~the dog house / or pound~ to no avail. :mad: :p Even though I had "Pixel's" support. :rolleyes: :ninja: :shifty:

    if ur interested, Maximum PC forum does have a Dog Pound section

    Yup, ten-forward was the lounge/bar/cafe place where all the socializing on the Enterprise took place hehe :D

    Triva. There is no "ten-forward" in the NCC 1701E. :)

    It used to be that, but now it's just degenerated to "The place where all the crazy, insane people hang out." :blink: o_O
