Query re drive requirements for Image for Windows

Just wondering for Image for windows what the requirements are for drive sizes?
In Shadowprotect the target drive has to be as big as the original drive - is that the same for Image for windows or could you install an image on a smaller drive?
Also, doing a full backup, will the image size be approximately the same as the used space on my current drive?

Thanks for that - I actually had to use the program a few times now as the installation of one other program on a new pc caused corruptions. Using the Dos Disk for booting and the restore function worked flawlessly each time. I am quite impressed.
