How long are infected items left in Quarantine before they are permanently deleted? And will the infected items automatically be deleted (by ESET), or must the user delete them? And what is the best way to permanently and securely delete them?

    I'm using version 3.0.684.0. Thanks

They are perfectly safe in quarantine, so, they are never automatically deleted.

Well, they may be "safe" in quarantine.....but how about if a user just WANTS to remove/delete the infected file from the PC permanently? o_O

    Thank you :thumb:

The language is what I found confusing...because the function says "Remove"....and when selected, the wording says "Do you really want to remove selected files from quarantine?" Almost sounds as though they're being released back into the computing environment...rather than permanently being deleted......

You're basically describing the restore function.

Right! Which is how ESET has basically described the DELETE function!

ESET should *SERIOUSLY* consider rewording that.....to avoid future confusion. I was confused to the point where I basically had to start a thread about it, and even when describing it you mention how it "sounds like the restore function".......

JRCATES, I couldn't agree more, the wording is extremely confusing, and all the more so if one happens to be under the stress of dealing with a virus.

Thank you for supporting my position on this. :thumb:

I definitely think that EST should change the wording....it is confusing (for the reasons mentioned above).

The wording has already been changed from "Remove" to "Delete from Quarantine" to make it clearer.

Thank you, Marcos. I guess it has just been changed recently and since the release of version 3.0.684.0, since it still words it that way on 3.0.684.0

Glad to see that it HAS been changed, though :thumb:
