Purpose of ewidoctrl.exe???

    I am using ewido 3.5 free version, i have not acivated the guard, but i still have this process running all the time...ewidoctrl.exe. I am just wondering what is its purpose and if it is really nescessary to keep it running. I'm not worried about it, as it doesnt eat loads of cpu and ram, but i am one that likes to kill things that dont need to be running. Any comments?? Thanks
