PUPs and botnet bundled with 7-zip, according to Invincea

    I did get 7-zip offered as additional software but it was long ago. Though, I can't remember which software I was installing.

    Well at least there's "according to". Although "questionably claims" sounds better...

    I just download 7-zip 9.2 32 bit from the http://www.7-zip.org/ which came up first in a Google search for 7-zip. SourceForge came up second. The file is identical to the file I downloaded 2 years ago. I would say that the version with PUPs is from another source and any Google search manipulation didn't have a lasting impact.

    I opened the installer archive with 7-zip itself. Just what I would expect was in it. In a lot of installers, the PUPs files are pretty obvious if you open it as an archive.
